Safe Skin Care

The Road to Safer Skin Care

MY STORY

The last few years have been years of much research and discovery as I began a series of therapies to detox from childhood exposure to toxins and stupidity/ignorance later in life. It is just like weight. It comes on easily, but the removal is not fun! These blogs will be  geared largely toward health and wellness, remedies, and therapies. Is this of interest to you?

Could you be carrying a toxic load? If this is a concern, take heart, because it can be addressed. It will take Time, Patience and Effort, but it’s worth the journey. I’ve compiled a short list of symptoms that I experienced in my own walk, but keep in mind that we are all different and symptoms may present themselves uniquely to you. Some of these symptoms can be related to other issues as well, so don’t just take my word for it, do your homework. Here are a few signs that could indicate a toxic load and a need for detox.

SYMPTOMS

  • Food and scent intolerances
  • Skin rashes and irritations
  • Digestive issues
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches for no real reason
  • Bloating
  • Excessive aches and pains
  • Inability to sleep and never feel rested after sleeping
  • Lower back pain
  • enlarged lymph nodes
  • Inability to lose weight. (Did you know that toxins are stored in fatty tissue? If you’ve tried a low calorie, high energy diet and you just can’t lose weight, it could be that there is a toxic load in the fat cells that needs to be addressed  instead. Here’s an interesting article for you to read.)

FIRST STEPS

Everything that goes on your body, goes in your body, correct? With that in mind, I thought it might be prudent to take first steps and skin care seemed the logical start. Skin care is very loosely monitored, and for that reason, can be loaded with toxins. I set to work in the Paisley Lane shop, researching and formulating products that could serve as a safe alternative. As I was about my research, I stumbled upon Beauty Counter products and discovered we shared the same vision, cleaning up toxins! Beauty Counter may or may not be something for you, but it’s safe, and that’s huge in this industry!

You’re a savvy group and have probably already figured out this toxin thing. However, if you are new to it, or just curious, hang in there and we’ll try to unravel it together. Don’t wait until you can’t shed weight, have a fatty liver, or develop disease to look at what could have been done.

Rather than give you a scary list of toxins and what they can potentially do, I would like to give you the following “NEVER LIST” from Beauty Counter. They’ve made a promise to never add any of these chemicals (some which have already been banned in other countries) in any of their products. If you decide you want to be scared to death, you can read about these chemicals on your own.

I would encourage you to download this list and keep it as reference when purchasing products, so you know what’s good and what’s not. If you’re in the market safe skin care and a company with a conscience, then look no further than Beauty Counter.

I hope this has piqued your curiosity, then stay tuned for another post where I’ll be sharing a remedy that was a game changer on the road to healing and recovery. See you soon!
